Investigations in power plant and water cycles & flue gas desulfurization plants

In thermal power plants, combined heat and power plants and heat transfer stations, large quantities of water are used to transform the energy forms and for cooling.

A large part of the water used is circulated.

In order to keep their chemical and physical properties within the normal range, constant control tests are required during the process.

The main focus here is on the water-steam cycle and the water treatment systems. In addition to these, however, cooling circuits or the process streams of flue gas desulfurization must also be examined.

Flue gas cleaning processes for the removal of sulfur compounds are used to clean the flue gases from thermal power plants. In these flue gas desulfurization plants, the SO2 and SO3 gases produced during combustion are washed out of the flue gas and removed from the process as gypsum.

Incoming goods inspection

We specialize in the testing of feedstocks and consumables in power plant operations.

Ultrapure water

We test according to recognized VGB guidelines:

  • Raw and pure condensates

  • E-filter ashes (with regard to further use in the building materials industry)

Process, industrial and waste water

  • In addition to the analysis of ultrapure water, the analysis of process, industrial and waste water in power plant operation is also one of our core competencies.

Process waters and suspensions

  • We also examine process waters, suspensions and the auxiliaries used for continuous control of the processes in flue gas desulfurization.

Product control plaster

  • So-called FGD gypsum is a by-product of power generation in thermal power plants. We carry out product inspections both as outgoing goods of a power plant and as incoming goods of the building materials industry.
