We specialise in the following test parts at the SGS Automotive Testhouse: Driver and rear seats, front and rear door panels, instrument panel, centre console, parcel shelf, carpet, headliner, bumper, steering wheels, panoramic roof, trim, rubber gasket, radiator, electronic components, wheel rims, tyres, add-on parts and headlights.

From the idea to the release - everything from a single source

The automotive industry's demands on the safety and quality of modern materials are high. Manufacturers want to continuously improve products and components, and the prerequisite for this is the continuous testing and verification of parts, system components and materials. From raw material to end product, from development to production. Only close cooperation between automotive manufacturers and qualified, independent testing laboratories guarantees that all requirements of the automotive manufacturers are met. 

For all these requirements, the Automotive Testhouse of SGS INSTITUT FRESENIUS is the competent partner and independent interface between supplier and OEM. The high acceptance of our services is reflected in the numerous approvals and recommendations of the OEMs. 

From raw material to component

The SGS Automotive Testhouse offers all important sampling tests, content determinations, identifications, simulations, quality and resistance tests, as well as test and project planning for developments, initial sample tests and series monitoring, right through to the evaluation and interpretation of results, from a single source.

Our procedures and methods

Accreditation and approvals

  • Flexible accreditation in category 1 and 2:
    Flexibly accredited testing laboratories are authorised to modify existing methods, with Category 2 accreditation being the highest level of accreditation. The SGS Automotive Testhouse is flexibly accredited (in category 1 as well as in category 2). For you as a customer, this means: new method developments tailored to your needs with simultaneous accreditation.
  • International support for OEMs worldwide:
    In addition to all German OEMs, this also includes Scandinavian and American automotive manufacturers. SGS Automotive Testhouse also has accreditations for Asian OEMs, with methods specially tailored to this market.
  • Approvals by automotive manufacturers: 
    SGS Automotive Testhouse is listed with all well-known automotive manufacturers, and offers coverage of complete test programmes according to delivery specifications.
